Rod began playing classical guitar as a 15yo But girls wanted to hear popular music in the small country town he grew up in so he quickly learnt a few chords and started singing love songs and popular covers. He moved to Perth in 1973 and played various venues around Perth up until ~ 1979.
Then he was caught up in corporate world, chasing a career, and music became much less important until in 2021 when he retired from the workforce and decided to get back into the live music scene.
Now along with writing and recording his own songs, he is busy entertaining in aged care centers, markets, busking and playing some local taverns and thoroughly enjoying being back into his music. Genres are singer/songwriter, country, folk, rock and Indie rock.
